Türkiye edged China in five sets 19-25, 25-20, 29-31, 28-26, 15-12 in their final match at the FIVB Women's Nations League in Beijing on Sunday.
China were quick to settle into their rhythm by wrapping up the first set 25-19 during which Zhuang Yushan scored seven points. The second went back and forth as the two teams tied each other 16-16. Then the Europeans started to pull away and eventually claimed it 25-20.
The third set turned into a thriller. First China staged a comeback from 15-7 down, eventually tying it 24-24. With the firm backing of a loud home crowd, the two sides fought hard for every single point until China clinched it 31-29.
The hosts then opened the fourth in strong fashion and jumped out to a 6-2 lead, but Türkiye stayed composed and gradually clawed their way back to take it 28-26. They continued to secure the final set 15-12 for a 3-2 victory and their fourth win in a row. China finished the home stop with two wins and two losses.
