BEYOND Expo 2025, one of Asia's largest innovation and sustainability event, commenced on Wednesday in China's Macao Special Administrative Region, drawing over 800 global enterprises.
The event showcased breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) /virtual reality (VR) /extended reality (XR), robotics, smart mobility, sports tech, and more. The AI Summit took center stage on Friday, uniting experts and industry leaders to explore AI's evolving role and China's growing influence in the global tech landscape.
Zack Kass, former head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI, told audiences during his keynote speech that human accuracy pales in comparison to AI in most real-world scenarios, emphasizing that future success will depend not on research and development ability alone, but on widespread, practical adoption, especially by small and medium enterprises. The real metric is how deeply AI integrates into business operations, he said as reported by Sina Finance.
Mike Cai, former Meitu chairman, urged entrepreneurs to rethink existing systems. As AI evolves, we'll find much of what we "know" could be flawed, Cai said at the summit, advocating for a bold reset of outdated models.

Chen Yu, partner at Yunqi Capital, addressed the hype cycle in tech, comparing the current focus on embodied AI to past trends like autonomous vehicles and large language models. Every wave of innovation brings bubbles, he noted, arguing these cycles fund the experimentation needed to forge future industry leaders.
Beyond discussions, the expo showcased China's tech strength, from AI-powered healthcare to smart city platforms. It also highlighted cross-border collaboration, with players from Silicon Valley, Europe, and Asia converging in Macao, now rising as a global tech hub.
