The "Hainan Week" for the China Pavilion at the ongoing Expo 2025 Osaka officially launched on Friday, showcasing the island province's commitment to harmonizing natural preservation with modern development.

The theme of Hainan Week can be translated to "Pursuing Green Prosperity: Openness and Shared Growth," aligning with the expo's broader vision of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."

The province's participation "illustrates the seamless integration of nature, culture and innovation," said Li Qingshuang, deputy head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and government representative for the China Pavilion. She noted that the event would elevate Hainan's role as a global hub for sustainable development and open innovation.

Chinese Consul General in Osaka Xue Jian highlighted growing Sino-Japanese cooperation, citing Hainan's partnerships with Japan in eco-friendly sectors such as green healthcare, modern agriculture and digital economy. He invited global viewers to explore the province's "vibrant, inclusive vision for the future."

Susaki Nobuhiko, president of the Japan China Economic Association, echoed this sentiment, saying that the event would "inspire new opportunities for cross-border collaboration."

Running until May 25, Hainan Week extends beyond Osaka to Tokyo and Hyogo Prefecture, hosting investment forums and trade dialogues to promote the Hainan Free Trade Port as a nexus for eco-conscious innovation.
